Spring Breakup 2006 April
Breakup of the ice on the Moose River at Moosonee, Ontario. The River is the way to Moose Factory from Moosonee. When it is passable, by boat, snowmobile or vehicle, travel is easy. During breakup and freezeup communications between the Island and the mainland become more difficult and expensive once helicopters must be used.
